Again, Enugu Lawmaker, Hon. Paul Nnajiofor, Rolls Out Palliative for Constituents
In what appears to be a routine gesture, the lawmaker representing the people of Nkanu East constituency at the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor (Ononenyi) has yesterday, 24th of August 2020, rolled out another set of life-changing palliative for women and children in his constituency.
These succours were coming following his recent distribution of relief materials across his constituency. Hon. Nnajiofor who insisted that he would never get tired of reaching out to his people further noted that policymaking should extend beyond the shore of legislative chambers. Among the items distributed were bags of rice, cash, mobile phones, face shield, and a lot of mouth watering gifts.
Hon. Nnajiofor while dishing out the relief materials stated that he was not unaware of the suffering of many Nigerians who are struggling to cope in the face of the novel Coronavirus pandemic. He reiterated that his little support would serve as respite for the biting economic downturn occassioned by the ugly incident of the outbreak of the virus which forced the federal government to declare total lockdown in the country.
While ensuring that everyone partake in the benefits from the palliative, especially women and children, the Community and Social Development Programme’s (CSDP) Committee Chairman at the House of Assembly assured he would keep complementing the laudable efforts of the State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, in giving back to his constituency by ensuring that all democratic dividends accruable to them were made available.
Addressing the women in the low-key gathering, Hon. Nnajiofor was quoted as reassuring them in the following words: “I will continue to show concern and humanitarian gestures to appreciate my Constituents especially at this trying times in appreciation of their support and prayers to our outstanding leader and Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and to all of us.
“My people of Nkanu East are wonderful and great pillars of democracy in Enugu State and Nigeria. My philosophy in life is to share what one is blessed with, with others around you no matter how small. Onye chukwu nyere, ya nye ndi ozo.”
Reacting to the magnanimous and benevolence display of the most popular and loved lawmaker, Hon. Mrs. Judith, a woman leader from Nomeh Ward, extolled the selfless posture frequently put up by him in his determination to give the best.
Speaking on behalf of other women, the women leader expressed her gratitude to Nnajiofor for his uncommon demonstration of exceptional generosity especially to women and other vulnerable members of the society.
She further stated that the constituency was counted among the lucky ones for having a God-fearing, active, responsible, accountable and responsive lawmaker like Nnajiofor.
