Women have been charged to intensify effort in inculcating moral values on their children for a safe society.
The Archbishop, Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma who gave the charge at the 2018 diocesan women’s thanksgiving service held at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd said this had become imperative considering the spate of societal decadence.
The special church service was attended by women from all the archdeaconries that made up the diocese.
It was a moment of joy as women dressed in white, blue and green apparel danced to the alter to appreciate god for all his numerous kindness and mercies towards them for the past one year.
In a message to the occasion, Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma who extolled women for their roles in ensuring the progress and development of their homes and the church enjoined them to make conscious effort in living lasting legacies for their children.
The Archbishop also said women should be given equal opportunity in leadership and decision making considering the huge impact they have made in the society.
earlier, while preaching a sermon tagged “the force of thanksgiving “the sub dean, cathedral church of good shepherd, venerable Davidson Udodi who said the importance of the thanksgiving could not be over emphasised enumerated the benefits of giving thanks to god making references to relevant bible passages.
Wife of the Archbishop, Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, and President, Women’s Guild, Joyce Chukwuma who attributed enormous success recorded by the ministry to the unflinching love of god towards them also commended the women for their consistent support to the propagation of the gospel in the diocese.
Some of the worshippers Ethel Onyebuchi and Nnonye Tagbo thanked God for his steadfast love on their lives.
