Political leaders in the country have been advised to provide permanent solution to challenges confronting the country and restore the confidence of citizens in the leadership.
The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma gave the advice when the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Enugu State Planning Committee on Median Edition of Lecture Series of the Union visited him in his office.
The Most Reverend Chukwuma, who commended the choice of the proposed theme of the lecture series, “Promoting Synergy among the Media, Ruling class and the People,” stated that there was no better time to create a unifying society in the country than now describing the NUJ, Enugu Annual Lecture Series as apt and timely.
Archbishop Emmanuel used the opportunity to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to check killings of innocent citizens across the country, epileptic power supply, poverty and hunger.
In a remark, the Chairman, Planning Committee, Median Edition of the NUJ Enugu lecture series, Mr. Michael Ilediagu, described the outcome of the visit as a great encouragement to the effort of the Committee to have a well organized Lecture Series.
Meanwhile, the median edition of the NUJ lecture series slated for February 20, 2020 is aimed at closing the gap between the ruling class, media and the people.
