Cleric advocates improved workers’ welfare
A christian cleric in Enugu, Very Reverend James Ekpe has charged governments at all levels to make deliberate effort in improving the welfare of workers.
The Arch-Diocesan Secretary, Enugu Archdiocese of Methodist Church, Very Reverend James Ekpe gave the charge in a sermon during a thanksgiving church service held at the Wesley Cathedral, Uwani Enugu to end the week long activities of the civil service in Enugu.
The cleric who decried the ugly experiences government workers are passing through urged relevant governments to intensify effort in ensuring upward review of their salary.

He also urged governments to make life more meaningful to retirees by not subjecting them to unnecessary tussle before giving them their benefits.
Ekpe who also preached on the theme of 2018 civil service week which is Transforming Governance to Realize Sustainable Goal: identified two factors that could make transformation feasible in one’s life to include confidence and trust in God.

Enugu Head of Service Chidi Ezema who led workers of the state to a special thanksgiving offering expressed gratitude to God for making the event successful and commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for approving the 2018 Civil Service Week Celebration.
