Diabetes: Nigerians Urged to Adopt Healthy Lifestyle
Women have been advised to always acknowledge God in their lives as well as intensify effort in eating healthy foods to prevent diabetes complication.
The wife of Enugu state Governor, Monica Ugwuanyi gave the advice at Michael Okpala Square Enugu during November Edition of Women Prayer Net Work which also coincided with world diabetes month.
Mrs Ugwuanyi who admonished the women to be conscious of what they eat to promote a healthy living, also urged them to always testify the goodness of god in their life to attract more blessing.
In a message, Evangelist Favour Ugwuanyi while expressing concern over the attitude of some women in the society called on them to submit to god in times of hardship, to enable them overcome their problems.
A Consultant Gynecology and former NMA Chairman Enugu state, Dr George Ugwu in a lecture tagged “Maternal Health Care’’, urged women to always visit good hospital for proper medical checkup.
In separate lectures, Dr Ogochukwu Ezeokeke and Chinedu Amadi educated women on dangers of diabetes, mentioning major risk factors of the ailment to include overweight, unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, family history among others pointing that diabetes is regarded as a leading cause of blindness, amputation, heart disease, kidney failure and early death.
