Elders Forum drums support for Ayogu Eze

Barely a week after APC stakeholders from Enugu Senatorial Zone loyal to Okey Ogbodo and Barrister Ogara of the party shifted their support to Senator Ayogu Eze, Enugu North LGA Elders Council has pledged its support for the candidacy of the All Progressive Congress candidate, Senator Ayogu Eze and promised to deliver him as Governor of Enugu state come 2019.

Chairman of the Forum, Jude Nebo who led a delegation of members cutting across all works of life including retired service men, civil servants, religious leaders and businessmen as well as women from all the 13 wards of Enugu North Local Government Area to Ayogu Eze’s Campaign Office, said the Elders’ Council Forum is desirous of seeing to the success of the APC Guber candidate and disclosed that the group was already galvanizing and mobilizing support to ensure wide acceptability of his candidacy.

Also speaking, the Forum’s Secretary, Oledika Michael while pledging the Forum’s unalloyed support for Senator Ayogu Eze, he assured of their readiness to key into the vision of the APC Governorship candidate in the state to take over the Enugu Lion Building for the good of Enugu people.

“We are not here to endorse His Excellency as is obtainable in some quarters but here “to work in solidarity as words and endorsement isn’t enough”.

In his response, Barr. KGB Oguakwa, the Director-General, Ayogu Eze Campaign Organization, commended them for their visit and genuine demonstration of love and solidarity for Sen. Ayogu Eze.

He noted that, “Sen. Ayogu Eze’s political ideology is that everyone is important and has equal stake in politics”.

While describing the visit as symbolic, Oguakwa said it is a proof that “Lion Building is waiting for us because the Landlords of the Lion Building have come to support him”

“His Excellency is worried about pensioners, he is worried about the poor state of our health sector, he is worried about the overall welfare of the people and that’s why he’s in the contest”.

“Your visit today has re-energised our resolve to save the state and is a pointer that we need to run faster because your organization is wonderful” he said.

He commended the Elders Forum for carrying the women along stressing that women were important stakeholders in the success of every political process and encouraged them to sustain the good work as they are already part of the campaign.
