The convoy of the Enugu State Chief Judge, Justice Priscilla Emehelu was on Wednesday involved in a multiple crash.
The crash occurred at about 10:30 am immediately after Ogige Market in Nsukka.
Our correspondent gathered that the Chief Judge was on her way to the Nsukka Custodial Centre of the Nigeria Correctional Service to carry out jail delivery exercise and was a few minutes away from the venue of the exercise.
The rear of her official vehicle, a Land Cruiser Prado Jeep was damaged. Another jeep carrying a senior Judicial Officer accompanying Justice Emehelu to the jail delivery exercise was equally affected.
A Honda Accord with registration number, ENSJ -15 carrying one of the judges and two other female judicial workers was fatally damaged but occupant of the vehicle came out unhurt; thanks to functional Airbags in the vehicle.
An eyewitness who spoke to EnuguDaily.com said a Motorcycle operator was knocked down and attributed the crash to the negligence of one of the drivers of Police Hilux accompanying the convoy whose driver was allegedly sleeping.
The Chief Judge was not however deterred by the crash as she proceeded to hold the jail delivery exercise.
