 Enugu Chief Judge Extends Suspension of Court Sittings Over Coronavirus

The Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice Priscillia Emehelu, has extended the suspension of court sittings till further notice.

In the statement signed by the Chief Judge on Tuesday, the extension was in furtherance to preventive measures on the spread of coronavirus (covid-19) and the protection of justice, judges and staff of court.

According to the statement, all court sittings remained suspended except for matters that are urgent, essential on time bound.

It said the directives do not affect the election petition tribunal which shall not have more than twenty persons in the court room and who must maintain social distance of not less than two metres

To this end, members of the general public are not allowed into the court premises except those who have urgent matters.

It further said that mediation at the multi door court house is suspended as in court sittings.
