The Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with Encyclotainment Ltd and Billionaire Records USA is set to hold the maiden edition of “ENUGU EASTER CARNIVAL”, 2020, on April 13 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
Briefing journalists and bloggers in Enugu at the state secretariat complex on Friday, the commissioner for ministry of culture and tourism, Ugonna Ibe disclosed its plans to achieve desired results of the initiative.
Enugu state for some time now has been written off as state with vibrant entertainment sector and viable platforms to harness the potentials of creatives, discover and develop talents for socio-economic gains.
This, the leadership of Enugu Ministry Of Culture And Tourism together with Encyclotainment LTD seek to change through introduction of annual Easter carnival as one of the strategies to make the entertainment and tourism sector lucrative and engaging.
The Commissioner Ministry of Culture And Tourism, Ugonna Ibe represented by the Permanent Secretary, Okamagbueze Obioma who said the carnival will pave way for rapid development of the state’s entertainment industry, solicited the partnership of the media in propagating the prospects of the project.
Also, the CEO of Encyclotainment Ltd, Obinna Ukaobasi eulogized the state government for approving and supporting the initiative in a time that development of talent has proven to be powerful in creating job opportunities for teeming unemployed youths and reducing social vices.
He said the blockbuster Easter Carnival which is first of its kind since the history of the state entertainment sector will kick-off with “Enugu To The World Talent Unseen” competition centered on discovering the best talent in music, acting, modeling, dance, Deejaying, comedy and art, while the grand finale is tagged “Enugu Easter Jam Blast Concert”.
Ukaobasi explained that the seven talents categories will be grouped into two, and the first phase of audition will take place on April 4th and 8th at Platinum Lounge Hotel where the best three would be selected from each category who go for the final phase on April 10, where the overall best will be selected and given the platform to showcase their talent in the grand finale on Easter Monday, April 13.
Interested individuals who are willing to participate are advised to go to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism or any branch of Access bank to pick up audition forms at the cost of 3, 000 naira.
The winners of the competition will go home with 1 million naira each with a one year deal with Billionaire Records USA.
