Former Accountant-General of Enugu State Marks 25th Wedding Anniversary

The former Account-General of Enugu state, Dr. Paschal Okolie, and wife Lady Stella Okolie weekend celebrated their 25 years wedding anniversary.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass at Christ the King Parish, GRA Enugu where they renewed their marital vows.

The celebrants met at a wedding ceremony as best man and maid of honour on 9th of May 1992 and wedded on the 4th of November 1995.

The marriage is blessed with six biological children and numerous adopted children.

Speaking at the thanksgiving mass, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Revd Callistus Onaga, who administered the renewal of vows urged married couples to continue to be faithful to one another, especially in times of trials.

Bishop Onaga stated that social vices in the society could be reduced, if parents show more responsibility in the upbringing of their children describing Paschal Okolie as a man of honour, and integrity.

Earlier in a homily, a Catholic Priest Revd Father Anthony Njum who extolled the exemplary lives of the celebrants prayed god for unity in their marriage lasting fidelity.

Guests including friends and family members were treated to a sumptuous reception at the Kobb Event Centre, Polo Shopping Mall.

The celebrants took to the dancing floor to show their dancing skill.

In an interview, acting accountant-general of the state, Remigus Odoh, Commissioner for Chieftaincy Matters, Charles Egumgbe, Enugu state Chief Fire Officer, Okwudili Ohaa, Leader, Enugu State House of Assembly, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu among other personalities described Dr. Okolie as an epitome of humility, transparency and honesty and prayed god to continue to endow them with good health.

In a remark, the chief celebrants identified patience, trust, and grace of god as instrumental to the success in their marriage.

Highpoints were renewal of marital vows, cutting of anniversary cake among others.
