GOUNI reduces tuition fees by 33 per cent

Godfrey Okoye University, GOUNI , Enugu has announced 33% reduction in tuition
fees payable by students in the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University announced this on Monday at an
event to mark the official commencement of new academic session.
Making the announcement on Monday while declaring open the 2021-2022
academic session,  Professor Christian Anieke disclosed that the decision of fees reduction was taken by the university senate as part of measures to cushion the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic that ravaged world in 2020.
Professor Anieke said GOUNI is the first private university in the country that has taken into consideration plights of parents or
guardians, when other universities were increasing fees because of the current economic challenges.
Professor Anieke also disclosed that the university has equally introduced new programmes, including Masters Degree and PHD’S in Political Science, Microbiology, Mass Communication as well as
Biological Sciences, English and literary studies, among others.
He also announced scholarship for five persons willing to study music
in the university.
While highlighting the achievements far recorded by the University, Professor Anieke stated that despite the corona virus pandemic staff of the institution were paid salaries as and when due and charge them to be of good behavior.
He called on the federal government to consider private universities
in its various intervention programs, especially, the TETFUND.
