The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has condoled with National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and Oyo State Government over the demise of a youth leader, Mr Yemi Adeniran.
The condolence was contained in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday by the NYCN national Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mr Bestman Okereafor.
“With rude shock and total sadness, the NYCN received the news of the passing away of a youth leader and major stakeholder of NANS, Yemi Adeniran, fondly called ‘Like That’.
“No doubt, this is a major loss and setback for the youth and student constituency in Southwest, specifically Oyo State, in particular.
“Information at our disposal reveals that Adeniran died in an accident that occurred in Ibadan on his way back from Abuja, where he had gone to show solidarity for Gov. Seyi Makinde election victory at the Supreme Court,’’ he said.
Okereafor stated that, as NYCN bids Adeniran farewell, the body prays to God to forgive all his shortcomings as well as grant his family, the youth and students movement the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Even as we are calling on the Oyo State Government led by Gov. Makinde to take over the full sponsorship of the children left behind by the decease, up to university level,’’ Okereafor appealed.
