It was gathered that the 55-year-old went missing on Monday, July 26, when she went to buy balloons for her sick husband.

According to reports, the victim boarded a tricycle from the Yakoyo area of the community to the Mowe Market and went missing in the process.

Lola’s daughter, Damilola, told PUNCH Metro that the family suspected that her mother was kidnapped.

She said, “When my father could not talk well, a medical doctor recommended that he should be blowing balloons; it was the balloons my mother went to the market to get for him when the unfortunate incident occurred.

“We waited for five hours, thinking that she would return home. But when we didn’t see her, we visited hospitals and mortuaries to confirm if she was involved in a road accident. We tried her telephone line and it went through till around 9pm, but nobody picked it, till it went off.

“We have gone to the Mowe Police Station, where the police promised to track her phone number and we also went to her network service provider so they could help us to track it. My mother is an easy-going person and she didn’t have any issue with anyone that could warrant her being kidnapped.

“We are suspecting that she was kidnapped, but nobody has contacted us to demand ransom. That was not the first time that she would go to the market to buy things. My father is still lying on his sickbed; we appeal to those who took her to release her for the sake of God and allow her to come home.”

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said he would get back to our correspondent, but had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
