IMPERSONATION: Fake lawyer nabbed in Enugu
Police in Enugu have arrested one Festus Ozonwanji for impersonation.
The suspect he was arrested by legal department of the Nigeria Police Force, Enugu Command has allegedly been parading himself as lawyer.
A statement by Enugu Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu reads:
“ man identified as one Festus Ozonwanji who claimed he lives at Corridor Layout Enugu state was on 11th october,2018 nabbed by the operatives of the Legal Department of the Nigeria Police Force Enugu state command through intelligence information’.

“He was nabbed having allegedly presented himself as a legal practitioner at a court in Ezeagu local Government Area of Enugu state”.

“However, suspect later denied being a legal practitioner on interrogation but disclosed that he just graduated from law faculty of the National Open University of Nigeria but has been doubling as legal practitioner”.
“Meanwhile search conducted on the suspect revealed in his possession suspected seal believed to be that of the Nigeria Bar Association as well as other legal documents”.
Amaraizu stated that the suspect is now helping the operatives in their investigations in relation to the alleged crime of impersonation.
