Teachers have been charged to always carry out their duties with diligent and consider teaching as a noble profession.
The Transition Committee Chairman, Oji river local government area, Chief Mathew Madu who gave the charge also called for improved teachers’ welfare to motivate and inspire them contribute their quota to teaching and learning.
The Oji River Transition Committee Chairman, Chief Madu who was represented by his Deputy; Ella Ugomsi stated this while commissioning a newly renovated head office Of Oji River Local Government Education Authority.
according to him, apart from the renovation of the head office of Oji River Education Authority , his administration within one month graded over five rounds which he listed to include; Oji River School Of Health Road, Urban Secondary School, Timbershield, Adu-Achi Road as well as Ujiri Road.
He said the renovation of the head office of the local government education authority would improve the efficiency of teachers.
Earlier, Oji River Education Secretary, Benedict Chukwuka said the office has been in bad condition for over four years which has made it impossible for efficient delivery.
He commended the transition chairman for the renovation work on the office within one month in office.
On her part, the supervisory Councilor for education, Theresa Onyefuzili commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for including more women in his administration and charged teachers to justify the good works of the leadership of the council by redoubling their efforts in imparting useful knowledge on pupils and students.
Highpoint of the event which was also attended by other supervisory councilors was the official cutting of tape to the newly renovated office complex of the Oji River education authority.
