The Chancellor of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu, has condoled with Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Abdallah Uba Adamu, over recent death of his father, Dr Muhammad Uba Adamu.
Agubuzu, who is also Chairman of Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, gave the condolence message in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday.
“I came across the shocking and sudden demise of your father, Dr. Muhammad Uba Adamu, on an online news platform.
“As painful as it may be, I implore you to take solace in the fact that your father lived a fruitful and successful life here on earth and passed on at a ripe old age.
“Please accept my very sincere condolences and deep sympathy and convey the same to the larger Uba Adamu family in the historic city of Kano and beyond.
“May Almighty Allah grant the soul of your late father eternal happiness in heaven,’’ he said.
NAN recalls that late Adamu, the father of Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu, the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, died recently.
Mr Ibrahim Sheme, the spokesman of NOUN, who confirmed the death in a statement earlier, noted that the octogenarian passed away in Kano on Monday.
His death in Kano added to the number of prominent people that died in the last few days in the ancient and historic city.
