Shun Violence, Embrace Peace; Enugu Lawmaker tells protesters

*** Decries wanton destruction of property

The member representing Nkanu State Constituency at the Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Paul Nnajiofor has called on the #ENDSARS protesting youths in the state to remain calm as government works towards addressing their demands.

Nnajiofor made the call amidst increased violence and escalation of the #ENDSARS protest which was largely peaceful from the beginning.

He advised protesting youths not destroy government critical infrastructure despite provocation, frustrations and incitement.

“Remember, this Enugu state is our own. We built our homeland by our hands. By our sweat and grit we rebuilt it despite the ravages of the civil war”.

“We will protest against oppression, police brutality, and demand better governance but we should not burn down our home state”.

“Enugu youths, say no to violence, say not to destruction of property. We are the ones losing. Let us be wise. Do not play into the hand of our enemies and criminal elements”. He said
